AN Success Story – February 2016

The outreach worker met AN outside of the Ozanam Inn. He immediately began asking about rehab services. AN had been sober for 8 months, in the Salvation Army program, but relapsed. Since then, he has been homeless and staying in and out of the shelter for several months. The outreach worker offered AN Travelers Aid Society Crisis-Intervention Counseling Program as a resource, and also gave him a list of agencies who offered substance abuse treatment. AN went to the VA Community Resource Referral Center first thing the next day to meet with a caseworker. The Travelers Aid Society caseworker was able to enroll AN in the Bridge House Substance Abuse Program. The outreach worker saw him the day before he enrolled, and he was excited to start the program.
